Science Experiment
We watched a video about hot steel vs. frozen lake from Finland. I started the video about 1:35min mark and cut it off at the 8:00min mark as there were parts that were not appropriate for the students to hear. Many expressed a wish to share this with their parents so I felt I needed to share where I started and ended the video. I just googled the above red words.
DVD of the musical
The order form was emailed to parents who opted for the commercial email. If you would like to order a DVD of your child(ren)’s performance and did not get the email then please ask for a paper copy to be taken home. The order forms need to be back by Friday.
Poetry Party
Please make sure the orange duo-tangs are back at school for Friday. The students felt that they could get their poem on Friday and have it ready to present on Wednesday, Feb. 15th.
Wangari Musical – Feb. 8 and 9.
On the each of the nights of the performances, we will be meeting in Room 12 at 6:15pm already in their colourful shirts. The doors will be open at 6:00pm. Please have your student hang up their coats at their coat hook, get their indoor shoes and proceed to Room 12. The students will have a choice of watching a movie or doing some mindful colouring. We also said that they could bring a snack to eat sometime during the evening if they so choose.
"Caring for pets creates caring calm people”
Our pet funds from the popcorn drive have been depleted. Please help us provide for our wonderful school pets by contributing a loonie or a twoonie when you come for our amazing Spring Concert. Any donations are gratefully appreciated. And remember to sign up fro a weekend bunny visit if you have a bunny safe home.
Thank you,
Room 10 and all the bunny researchers from Power of Pets

- Thursday’s performers got to watch the performance. (MM)
- We played Guess My Word in the morning. (LB)
- We had science and we watched the hot steel and frozen lake video again and then we wrote about what we learned and what I would do differently. This is the conclusion part of the scientific process. (DJ and JW)
- We had indoor recesses. (HM)
- We had lunch first today and then had indoor recess because Fun Lunch came really early. (BD)
- We had French and we sang two opposite songs in French. (GH)
- In quiet reading, we read with somebody else in the class. (CS and BB)
- We edited some writing and then continued to write about our question from Monday. (EH)
Daily Challenge:
Wednesday performers share how the rehearsal felt before and then after the performance. Thursday performers, share what you felt while watching today’s performance and how you feel about doing it tomorrow.
