Have a happy and safe Halloween!!
Home Reading
We picked out our home reading books today. Some of us chose one book and others have chosen two. Please read the books a few times over the weekend and then send them back on Monday to be exchanged. There are two sheets of paper in the bag with the books. The yellow one is a log to track the books that have been read. After reading, discuss with your child if they found the book easy (E), just right (JR), or challenging (C). Record what you have decided. This is a part of helping me adjust the levels your child is reading at.
The other white sheet is for you to keep at home, to practice some of the literacy ideas on it.
We will be exchanging the books on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Milk
Please note that milk was not given today as the breaker had been shut off and the refrigerator did not go back on. We did not know how long the fridge had been off.
Veteran’s Food Bank
We are collecting food donations for the Veteran’s Food Bank. We have been asked to look in our house for non-perishable foods that can be donated. As a class we thought it would be good if everyone could donate at least one item.
Fun Lunch for November 18th.
Please note that there is a Fun Lunch scheduled when we are on a field trip on November 18th. If you have ordered a lunch, you can go back in and cancel the order now and you can use the money towards your next purchase. We do not have the facilities to refrigerate the orders and make sure that they get home in a timely fashion.
Learning Centers
The activities and learning outcomes are on October 28th blog entry.

Daily Challenge:
If you go out trick or treating this weekend, how many different ways can you sort your treats? Maybe take a picture of it and bring it to school on Monday or write about it in the blog.
