Daily Challenge:
(This is yesterday’s challenge but there were some students away so I decided to put it up again today.) Yesterday morning we went to the Idea Lab to discover that there is a problem in Room 10. We are trying to figure out how to allow the bunny the freedom (it needs to be out of its cage about 3 hours a day) it needs as well as keeping it and others in the school safe.
There are two doors to Room 10. Currently the doors need to be shut if the bunny is out of its cage or we some rather ineffective gates up. The one gate is a wooden shelf that has to be taped to the wall and then re-taped if someone needs to come in and out. The other gate is a piece of Styrofoam that does not fit all the way across the doorway and is fragile if it is stepped on. The bunny has managed to get out a few times.
So the problem is: how can we make gates with what we have at the school that keep the bunny in room 10, allows people the ease of getting in and out, and keeps the doors open.
Discuss with your family some of the ideas you had/have and maybe some ideas you heard today. If you and your family come up with more ideas, you can share it on the blog or bring your idea to school and we can add it to the idea board. We will be meeting again next week to discuss ideas in small groups and maybe making little prototypes to test our ideas.
