We have started discussing Urban and Rural communities with our students in the classroom. We started with a picture sort to identify what we may see in the different communities. The students were asked to share with their families some similarities and differences they saw in the pictures. The challenge yesterday was to draw a picture of themselves in an urban or rural setting and to bring it into class to share. We have had a few come in and would like a few more before Spring Break to share with the class.

What have we learned today:
Please note that we have changed our way of describing our day. Instead of sharing what we have done today, we are sharing what we may have learned personally or together as a large group.
- We learned about another sense today during science senses sessions. (CG)
- I learned that if you are colour blind, the colours look different than what they actually are. You cannot see as many shades of a certain colour. (KH)
- I learned that I share the words that I make with other people. I can inspire others to find more words. (LB)
- I learned in math how to share how I solved a problem using words. (ES)
- We had learning centers and I learned how to change the beginning sound of a word to make new words. (CS)
- I learned in music that puppet shows are not always marionettes but can be shadow puppets. (GO)
- In learning centers, I learned that I need to listen carefully to the story so that I can complete the activity. (SZ)
Daily Challenge:
At Old MacDonald’s Farm, I saw pigs, cows, and chickens. I then counted 16 legs. How many pigs, cows, and chickens did I see? Share with on the blog your solution(s).
