Hello Everyone,
Poetry Party:
Today was our second to last poetry party of this year. I am allowing the students to choose their own poems to recite for our last poetry party on June 2, 2017.
Some students wanted to write their own poems to recite. Other students would like to recite a poem from a book they have at home. I have asked that they bring it to school by Thursday, May 18th so that I can check it over. The poem would need to be at minimum 5 lines/sentences. It can be on any topic.
We have been looking at different poems this past week or so. The students will be making their final choices by May 18th. They then will have 2 weeks to memorize and practice their performance.
Community Announcement:
On May 13th there is a free concert at Park 96. This is our Year-End Family Fun Day. It starts at noon and goes to about 4pm. All the Westwinds Concert Bands and Choirs will be performing in this beautiful outdoor venue.
There are food trucks, beverage tent, and other fun activities. You would just need to bring a chair and come and enjoy the music.
The Mixed Choir will be singing around 2ish and Wind Orchestra (Concert Band) will be playing sometime around 4ish.
