Hello everyone,
WDYT:
Today we reviewed the different types of touches, safe touches and hurtful touches. The students played a game of ‘thumbs up and thumbs’ down to different pictures showing different kinds of touches. They discussed that sometimes people touch in private places like a dentist (mouth), doctor, or your caregivers like during bath time. If they do not want to be touched they can ask to be left alone as it is their body.
The students made a list of people they trust that they can go to when someone’s touch makes them feel sad, mad, scared or worried.
Drumming:
The school was split into two groups and we will be drumming in the second session. Our drumming session starts on Nov. 26 and then continues the following week until Dec. 3. We will have 5 half hour sessions. We will not be able to attend the other session’s performance as we have a WDYT session that time. Our performance will be on Dec. 3 within the first hour of school. I am not sure when our class is actually performing. I will update when I get more information.
French
In French, students are using Photo Booth to make movies for IRIS. Each student will be demonstrating his/her French counting skills. If possible, students can be practicing at home. For more information, check out the French blog http://sgpallesen.weebly.com/blog

Field Trip Fees:
Please remember to pay the field trip fees. The notice came home at the end of September. The cost for all the field trips and in-school activities is $88.00. Payment can be made online by credit card as school fees. If online payment does not work for you, you may come in to pay using debit or credit at the office. We have been paying for our field trips so your prompt payment will help us with these fees. If you have any concerns with the lump sum payment, please contact Mrs. Pulfer, ([email protected]).
Volunteers for Monday mornings
There is a small group of moms who are reading Monday mornings and rotating through themselves to watch younger siblings in order so that they can volunteer. One of the moms lives right across from POW, which is where the childcare is taking place. If you are interested in this, please contact Andrea.

What we did today:
Daily Challenge:
We began talking about needs and wants. What are some needs, things people must have in order to survive? What are some wants that are just nice to have, but not necessary to live?
