Hello everyone,
WDYT:
Reviewing the different kinds of touches, okay touches, not-okay touches (hitting, kicking, pushing, etc.), and different not-okay touches (touching the private parts – girls – at the top in the front, at the bottom in the front and at the bottom in the back; boys- at the bottom in the front and at the bottom in the back. This also includes the mouth).
Hoop game – nice-okay touches in blue hoop, hurtful not-okay touches in yellow hoop, or different not-okay touches in a green hoop. Looked at pictures to decide where they go and discussed what happened and what the children could do when encountering the situation.
Nice-okay touches – it is their choice as it is their body
Hurtful not-okay touches – tell an adult the child trusts
Different not-okay touches – tell an adult the child trusts, and that the older person is at fault and not the child
Talked about feelings (tickly/prickly feelings, angry, happy, sad, scared, confused) the child may feel in the different situations and what they could do. It is okay to say no to an adult even if it is hard to do. Even if you cannot say it, it is still okay.
Field Trip Fees:
Please remember to pay the field trip fees. The notice came home at the end of September. The cost for all the field trips and in-school activities is $88.00. Payment can be made online by credit card as school fees. If online payment does not work for you, you may come in to pay using debit or credit at the office. We have been paying for our field trips so your prompt payment will help us with these fees. If you have any concerns with the lump sum payment, please contact Mrs. Pulfer, ([email protected]).
Volunteers for Monday mornings
There is a small group of moms who are reading Monday mornings and rotating through themselves to watch younger siblings in order so that they can volunteer. One of the moms lives right across from POW, which is where the childcare is taking place. If you are interested in this, please contact Andrea.
