Musical Theatre Group:
Mrs. Morin, Ms. Mosher, and Miss Konno are doing Musical Theatre this year at the beginning of the year. Those students who have chosen to join will have a permission form in their mail pocket. This is a group that will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 - 12:00. Please send back the permission forms as soon as possible. Thank you
Scholastic Book Orders:
This is different from the Book Fair. Each month a set of order forms will go home for you to order if you wish. We have had a discussion about who has the final say in what gets bought. Most of these books can be found at the Book Fair that will be happening at Parent/Teacher conferences. You can send a cheque in with the order forms or you can use the Parent Pay option.
Using Parent Pay is as Easy as1-2-3!
When your child brings home their Reading Club order forms, review them together and pick what you want to order just as you usually do. Then, when you’re ready to pay, go online to: parentpay.scholastic.ca
1. Fill out the form to select your child’s teacher and provide your payment details, including the Parent Pay code found on your order form(s).
2. Provide your billing and credit card information and submit your payment. You can submit a single payment for ALL flyers that have the same Parent Pay code.
3. Record your payment Reference Number on your child’s order form(s) and send them in to school so that your child’s teacher can place your order.
Meet the Teacher conferences:
These can be booked using your email and the link near the bottom of our school's website. Should you have difficulty scheduling an appointment, please let me know or call Lori in the office.
Volunteer Opportunities in Room 9
Room Coordinator: I thought I would let potential people know the expectations I have for the room coordinator (RC). The RC will coordinate the volunteers in the classroom, food for celebrations, and anything else we can think of. He/She will communicate with other parents through teacher-approved emails. The emails will be sent by BCC so that all personal information is kept confidential. If you are interested then please send back the purple sheet that went home last week with your information.
Volunteer jobs in the classroom:
1. Within the classroom, I prefer that parents come first thing in the morning for the first 30-45 minutes. I am pretty flexible with times if you would like to come in at a different time.
2. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I have parents read with different students either with their home reading or reading from their ‘just right book bag’. Once the home-reading program is up and running; then 2 or 3 parents make this job quick and easy.
3. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have parents work on different math activities in small groups. This works well with a couple of parents.
4. We may also ask for parents to volunteer food for a special occasions or celebrations. Usually we are asking for vegetable plates, fruit plates, cheese and meat trays with crackers, and maybe one sweet treat.
