Terry Fox Run
- Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather.
- We will have an assembly in the morning then come back to the classroom for snack and to change shoes and get coats. (10:00 – 10:15ish)
- Leave for the ridge. There will be a signal to meet at a certain spot before walking back to make sure that everyone is present.
- We have stickers to put on the students’ shirts or jackets that say, “Terry ran for me. I am running for __________”. Please discuss with your child who they would like to put in the blank space. I will fill it in before the assembly.
- I also have tattoo’s celebrating the 35th anniversary. The students will have a choice of putting it on in the morning or saving it until later.
Bonjour,
Have you had a chance to check out the Division 1 French blog? You can find it by scrolling down to the very bottom of the student agenda page. Click on the link under Mme Pallesen's photo. Here is the direct link: http://sgpallesen.weebly.com/blog
Each week, Mme Pallesen will summarize what the students are working on, and include links to the songs and activities they have been sharing in class. Don't forget to leave a comment. She loves to read them.
Au revoir!
Visual Journal Collage
The students will customize their visual journal covers to turn it into a personal treasure! Please help them collect images to create a collage, to be completed at school. The collages will represent the students' identities -- their favourite activities, foods, culture, memories, personality traits, family, etc. Images can include photographs, printed pictures, magazine images, words, and drawings. We request to keep items 2-D so that the collages can be laminated. Thank you for your support with this project! Please return items in red envelope for September 21.
Scholastic Book Orders
Order forms have been sent home. The students are aware that the final say in what or if any books get ordered is the choice of Mom or Dad. This is an opportunity to purchase books for your family and help out in the classroom. A percentage of the monies spent on books are returned to the teacher to purchase other books/resources for the classroom. If you would like the books to be kept a secret, please let me know by email. It takes about 2 – 3 weeks for the books to come in from when they are entered into the computer. There is a new payment method of using your credit card. I have registered for it and the letter steps you through it. I will also accept cash/cheques but prefer cheques that are made out to Scholastic Canada Ltd.

What we did today:
- We a pretty long book time. (GO)
- Some of us had center time when we finished our Map of Our Family. (BB)
- We had music and we listened and watched a new scarecrow video and the music got louder and softer. (ES)
- We went outside for gym and we did a fitness triangle. (CG)
- In music we did a new criss cross song. (KH)
- We practiced our poems and added some sign language to the My Brain song. (LO)
- We did a mindful activity with grapes where we looked, sketched, smelled, touched, and tasted grapes. We discovered that the grapes tasted better after we spent time observing them. (GT)
- We finished up our Map of Our Families. (SZ)
Daily Challenge:
We sorted our shoes again today and we did not use colour in our sorting. We looked at the fasteners like Velcro and ‘stretchy’ laces. We compared the sort from yesterday and noticed that each one was different. We also talked about how it might look if we sorted it again. Discuss with your family another way we could start the sort and share it in the comment section of the blog.
